Converted symbols for statistical significance to a binary 'Yes' or 'No' for whether or not p is less than or equal to 0.05 in order to simplify the visualization of statistical significance testing. Data were sorted so that each town had one row and each variable was recorded in a new column field. Town names were changed to conform with the MassGIS town layer's town field. Changes were made to North Attleboro (North Attleborough) and Manchester by the sea (Manchester). The total number of cases of each endpoint and the difference between the total and the sum of the counts in the towns that were not suppressed (no data = -999) was recorded for attribute information in the metadata to document the amount of suppression. The expected values for the hormonal cancers were also summed to get the expected number of cases for the combination of these five cancer sites/types. The aggregated observed was divided by the aggregated expected to get the SIR for hormonal cancers for each town. Poisson confidence intervals (95%) were produced to have confidence intervals like those in MDPH reports. These were produced using a Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) procedure written for Microsoft Excel by John C. Pezzullo. In a test all confidence intervals produced with this method differed slightly from those in MDPH reports but all differences were attributable to rounding error (all upper and lower bound values were within the range of values produced when inputting plus or minus 1/2 of the last significant digit).
