The Glossary is one component of an initiative to facilitate user-retrieval of health-related data and information from the Institute’s expanded website.

The Glossary was created by reviewing Silent Spring Institute’s website, research studies and published materials to extract relevant environmental, medical, and other scientific terms used, and their definitions. These terms were were evaluated by staff scientists and checked against medical and science dictionaries. To begin with, some 50 terms were selected for inclusion, but the list is expected to grow as our research grows, and as we receive feedback from you, the glossary users!
